Sana Security Extends Global Presence with European Partner

Scan Computers Offers Primary Response SafeConnect for Signature-Free Malware Protection

San Mateo, CA - July 31, 2006— Sana Security, Inc., a security software company, today announced an expansion into the United Kingdom offering its anti-malware solution to Scan Computers International Ltd’s (Scan) retail and E-tail customers. Scan Computers will offer Sana’s Primary Response SafeConnect, the industry’s only anti-malware solution to provide instant and constant protection without relying on signatures or scanning, to their international customer base. In addition, Scan Computers will periodically offer Sana’s Primary Response SafeConnect in value-added bundles with its high performance systems, PC hardware/software and consumer electronics.

Global cells of increasingly sophisticated malware code writers have begun to target specific geographies and industries. Their goal is to develop stealth attack vectors that handicap major anti-virus companies from quickly developing signature-based patches to obviate the threat. The complex structure of these threats allows the attackers to freely collect online identities using previously unknown attack vectors. Sana Security’s breakthrough behavior analysis model for identifying previously unknown malware is sought worldwide to prevent identity theft and protect PCs and consumer electronics. Sana Labs recently identified two ‘in the wild’ Trojans, rootkit.hearse and the related win32.goldun, that were not initially picked up by standard signature-based solutions. These threats are clear examples of malware writers strengthening their strategies. Both were stealing personal identification information and distributing it to criminal elements in different countries. The stolen identities were then sold on the black market.
